Restaurateur John D. Marihart grew up in Fresno, immersed in the food and beverage industry. After years of hands-on experience, he stepped away from restaurant life to focus on starting a family and building a successful second career in the technology world.
But the passion for hospitality never faded.
Thirteen years later, the perfect opportunity came along—and the dream of owning a restaurant became reality. 13 Prime Steak is the result: a place where experience, timing, and heart come together to create something truly special.
After growing up in Fresno and spending years in the food and beverage industry, John D. Marihart took a step back from restaurant life to focus on family and build a successful career in technology. But the passion for hospitality never left.
Thirteen years later, the timing was right—and the dream of owning a restaurant became reality.
Knowing the standard had to match (or exceed!) the incredible dining experiences he and his wife, Falina, enjoy while traveling, John partnered with long-time friend and seasoned Executive Chef Tommy Chavez. With over 25 years of experience running successful restaurants—and a shared history of opening multi-themed dining outlets for Indian Gaming Casinos—this duo brings deep expertise and vision to the table.
While 13 Prime Steak is a new venture, the team behind it is anything but new to the restaurant world. Together, John and Chef Tommy are raising the bar for the local dining scene.
